For those that would rather read than watch—hello and welcome to the next portion of the features overview! I am Brenden, the creative director and co-founder of Kokopelli, the agency which created this theme. I think it would be helpful if I gave a brief background on why we created this theme so that you can understand where we are coming from and why we believe Telluride should be considered for your next theme.
For starters, we have multiple clients who are BigCommerce merchants. As such we have been living and breathing BigCommerce the last few years. That gives us a lot of insight into what works in a theme and what doesn't. We started building out a wish list of sorts of things we would LOVE to have in a theme. Ultimately, when we didn't see anything that fit our needs we decided we'd build it and share it with the BigCommerce community.
Our clients are using this theme (we make products we believe in) and we will, for the foreseeable future, continue to make improvements for Telluride that are free of charge.
Main Features
- Looks Great Out-of-the-Box - Our theme requires 0, zip, zada, zilch custom assets to look good. I repeat, you do not need to have any images specifically created for the theme to look great. This is huge for all the smaller to medium sized merchants out there that don't have the time or money to go and get special images created. You can look extremely professional without much effort. We'd call that a win.
- Extremely Customizable - Our theme was built around the idea that merchants should be able to easily make updates to the theme colors, fonts, icons, links, etc. without needing to engage a developer. So much of what you see on Telluride can be customized via the theme settings so that you can make Telluride fit your brand and not the other way around.
- Quick Order Template - For specific product lines or businesses where customers already know what they want, why make them navigate to 25 different pages so they can add each item to the cart? With the quick order template, people can add the products they want and push them all to the cart in one click.
- Designed to look GREAT on Mobile - With more and more web traffic coming from mobile devices, we made sure to spend time on all the small details that make a difference. We built a lower nav bar to make it easier for users to find what they are looking for and specially designed each page around mobile.
- Mega Navigation - Let's be honest. Large catalogs can be hard to navigate. Our mega nav menu makes it so that you can fit in a LOT of product categories and with nice hover actions, this looks and feels fantastic.
- Free Theme Upgrades - We are constantly capturing feedback and insights from BigCommerce merchants on what would make the theme better. When we make theme updates and improvements, you'll be getting them free of charge. Since our clients use the theme, you can trust that we'll be supporting it for the foreseeable future.
- Product Images that Stay in View - Have a lot of product options? Usually when users scroll through those options, the product image leaves the view of the user. Not any longer! Check out our sample product page with many options so you can see how it functions.
- Integrated with B2B Ninja - For those looking for quoting functionality, our theme is built for seamless compatibility with B2B Ninja. This requires you to have a B2B Ninja account, but for B2B companies we find it is well worth it to have a robust quoting option.
