For decades, designers and typesetters have used a passage of nonsense Latin—known as Lorem ipsum—as placeholder text to demonstrate the features of a typeface both in terms of individual words and whole documents. It’s sort of like the fancy version “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog,” which uses every letter of the alphabet. But since no one speaks Latin, and the quick brown fox doesn’t take up enough space, we came up with this.
